[00:00:02] I'm Rich Young iii. And this is an amazing thing.
[00:00:17] I am here to facilitate learning the word of God on a fundamental level.
[00:00:24] So join me and let's grow together and build a relationship with our creator.
[00:00:29] And that starts now.
[00:00:41] Hello everyone. Welcome to an amazing thing. Thank you for joining me today. This is our end of the week show where we answer the questions that you submit through email or through voicemail. And let me give you those ways to contact us here. If you want to send an email question, it is questions amazingthing.com and also if you want to use our voicemail number, that is area code 214-699-9045.
[00:01:08] And so we are ready to answer your questions here.
[00:01:12] I'm going to go ahead and dive right off into this. Now. This first question comes from Alex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
[00:01:22] Do you think that the people in the millennium will still be reading the Bible?
[00:01:28] Well, this is a supposition from me.
[00:01:32] So basically deducing from what we can see in the word of God. I don't, obviously I don't know, but I believe that the physical people will have a Bible. And when I say physical people, the people who are left here on the earth that will be living here during the millennial period because this is after the rapture, and so all the spiritual people will be in spirit form at that time.
[00:01:58] So I believe that that will still be a guide for them to use to know how to live for God, along with the kings and the priests, which are the spiritual beings, will be teaching them on how to live for the kingdom of God.
[00:02:15] The Bible says that once a year the people will take a pilgrimage to Jerusalem to see Jesus.
[00:02:22] And so obviously the physical aspect of our, you know, the people living for God will still be there.
[00:02:31] The reason I say I believe that they will is because the Bible says in Mark chapter 8:11 that the children of will come from the east and the west.
[00:02:42] They will sit down with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. So there will have to be a means for the physical people on the earth to know who those people are and their exploits in order to be able to use that in their own growth.
[00:02:55] So that's why I believe it. So the people of the physical people will know of their exploits, ask them certain aspects of how to serve God and what they were thinking when they did that. So I believe that they will. And so the Bible will probably be available and probably still necessary for people on the earth. And like I said before, that's just speculation.
[00:03:20] And so there will be a need to grow in the, in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, in the, in the kingdom of God. And you know, there's a saying that says if a person doesn't know history, he's doomed to repeat it.
[00:03:32] So I'm sure that that would be an aspect of why people would need that, too.
[00:03:38] Also in First Corinthians, chapter 13 talks about when the raptured spiritual people are joined to the head, which is Jesus Christ. We will know as we are known, so we'll know everything. So there'll be no reason for the spiritual people to have a Bible. We'll be in our spiritual bodies at that time, but the physical people of God will still be in their physical bodies, and there will still be quite a lot of things that they will need to know for that thousand years. So I believe that the Bible will be necessary for them.
[00:04:11] And that's just an answer. Like I said, it's just an opinion, because the Bible doesn't tell us that the word of God would be available at that time. But that's what I believe.
[00:04:23] Our next question comes from Steve. He's emailing us from Greenville, South Carolina.
[00:04:30] The Bible says when Peter was on the Temple Mount, all the people understood them in their own languages.
[00:04:36] I thought they were all Jews speaking the same language.
[00:04:41] They were all Jews as it relates to the context of your question, although we do know that there were Gentiles allowed in the outer court throughout the time of the, of the first and Second Temple.
[00:04:54] And so we know that at the time of Jesus and thereafter, when the question that you asked happens In Acts chapter 2, the Romans were still ruling the world.
[00:05:06] So now let's get back to your question here, referring to the scripture. That scripture is found for all the people who are listening in Acts, chapter 2, verses 5 through 12. And let's bring everybody up to date on what Steve is talking about here. On the day of Pentecost, when the holy, Holy Ghost was first poured out, all the apostles and including the hundred other people that were in the upper room members, 120 people in the upper room, the apostles and other people there. Well, now those people have come out to the Temple Mount and the evidence that they received the Holy Ghost from the time they were in the upper room, throughout the history of the Bible in the New Testament was the same. The evidence of people receiving the Holy Ghost was them speaking in an unknown language or tongues is what the Bible refers to.
[00:05:56] And so afterwards, after these people had initially received the Holy Ghost, they went out to the Temple Mount, they were praying and, and singing probably doing all manner of things.
[00:06:08] And the they were speaking those unknown languages still.
[00:06:15] And so you have to remember there were three of the five feasts where the Jewish people, no matter where in the world you lived, had to make your way to Jerusalem for at least three of those feasts. One of them was the Pentecost, which is what they were doing on this day. That's why they were there. The other one is the Passover, and the other was the Feast of Tabernacles. The Jews call it Sukkoth.
[00:06:38] And so if you came to Jerusalem from wherever in the world you live for those holidays, you would have had to interact, have a job, be able to coexist with those people in whatever language that they spoke. So if you lived in, if you were a Jewish person living in Spain, you would speak Spanish as well as the Hebrew language. And so that was the case here. And so some of these people, the Jewish people, lived all over the world, so they would be bilingual, some of them trilingual.
[00:07:10] And that was the case here. Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, and Latin. Because the Romans ruled the world. And in that passage, other places are listed there that they came from. So that's what they were referring to. They all heard them in the. In a language that some of them could understand where depends on where they were from.
[00:07:32] And so an unknown language is a language that is unknown to the person speaking in, because you're not speaking unto me and you're speaking unto God, is what the Bible says there. So sometimes the people would be from the place, wherever that language was spoken from, and sometimes they wouldn't. And so this is what they were referring to here. So some of those people were able to identify that from wherever they were and wherever they were calling from. Some of those languages, we have to remember, maybe didn't or don't exist anymore because those people are extinct, whatever those people are. But that doesn't mean that God doesn't understand the language, because that's who you're speaking that language to anyway.
[00:08:19] And so that is an amazing question here. So there also. Let me go ahead and go off into this a little farther to say that there are three aspects of an unknown tongue or speaking in tongues or a heavenly language. One of them is when a person receives the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[00:08:37] Every time in the Bible, they, when they receive the gift of Holy Ghost, it either says that they did or it intimates that they did.
[00:08:47] And so that was the sign that you would receive that had received the gift of the Holy Ghost. The second aspect was in your private prayer life, when you put the Bible calls in close, closed in with God in, in your closet. Now, it doesn't mean going into the clothes closet. It just means being in one on one. You're not concerned about what's going around you. You're locked in with God. And then the third aspect is in the church, and that is when it is accompanied by interpretation.
[00:09:17] And the Apostle Paul instructed the people, you know, let it go forth by two or three. If there's no interpreter present, then go back to speaking your native language, which in our case here in America would be English. And so a lot of people, when they read that, they say, well, Paul was instructing them not to speak in tongues. That's not what he was saying. He was saying, don't keep going with it. If there's no interpreter present, go back to your native language there. And so we'll have to do an in depth study on this particular subject matter once we get there. In our midweek lessons, we'll cover a lot of things there.
[00:09:55] But to cover them here before we get there and to explain how those things came about in the word of God would be jumping the gun a little bit. And it would only do more harm than good, probably. Okay, our next question comes from Alan. He's calling us from Allen, Texas. Okay, Alan, from Alan.
[00:10:13] Should we continue to witness to our family members when they don't want to hear us?
[00:10:20] Well, I think we should continue to do that, but maybe in a different way. You know, a lot of times when we do things like that and witnessing, we're constantly talking about in a way that has become tiresome to them and accusatory.
[00:10:37] So we would probably tend to look for new inventive ways to do that.
[00:10:43] And witnessing is what a born again Christian is supposed to do.
[00:10:50] So we can't allow those who are without to dictate what us who live in that kingdom of God should be doing.
[00:10:58] So we can tell stories of what happened to us when we became born again and how God led us that in more inventive ways than what we had been before.
[00:11:09] Direct those to the people listening to us in a, you know, little bit more specific way or a different way than what we did before.
[00:11:18] Also we can change the tone of our witness. And usually when we are witnessing to our family and close friends and people that we really love, especially when we understand these things, we become accusatory and condemning and convicting, you know, as if we're fussing at them or that point of view. And so that can certainly become tiresome to someone who's hurt it more than a few times. So we need to be different, not so deliberate and intense toward them, the family members and friends and acquaintances that hear us all the time. We have to become more inventive how we approach this. But we should never stop because that is our purpose here. And we certainly want the people in our inner circle and the people that we encounter in our everyday interactions. All, you know, it should be the same desire to speak to those people.
[00:12:16] And so, no, I don't think we should stop, but just become more inventive in how we do it.
[00:12:22] Our next question comes from Karen. She's emailing us from St. Joseph, Missouri.
[00:12:29] Your answer?
[00:12:31] You answered the question about the rich young ruler being sorry to follow Jesus because of his wealth.
[00:12:39] Does.
[00:12:40] Does that mean that he was predestined not to be saved? Or so if are we predestined to either be saved or not?
[00:12:51] And that's a poor reading of the question, Karen. I'm sorry, but let's talk about this. Let's spend a little time with this, this question.
[00:12:59] And this brings up the subject matter that we need to talk about. I think this needs to have a deep, deep understanding as it relates to foreknowledge versus predestination. And we're getting quite a lot of mileage out of the rich young ruler in these questions and answers because people have been constantly asking questions about that since we started our question and answer here. Okay, let's bring everybody up to see. Up to speed on what Karen's question about Jesus interacting with the rich young ruler in Matthew 19, 16, 30, also in Mark, chapter 10, verses 17 through 31. Also in Luke 18, 18, 30, there was a rich young ruler who came to Jesus and asked him, what do I have to do to inherit eternal life?
[00:13:49] Jesus answers that he should obey the law, which is the commandments.
[00:13:53] The rich young ruler said, this I've done since my youth.
[00:13:57] What is it I like? Yet in his heart he knows he needs to do more because he doesn't have what Jesus has, and so he knows he doesn't have everything.
[00:14:07] The Bible tells us that Jesus beholding him also could be translated looking upon him. Because that's the question we had the last time and when we answered the first time translation that we use, which also is accurate, that Jesus gazed upon him.
[00:14:25] So what that's telling us is Jesus looked in that young man's soul to see what is it that he would love more than he would ever love God. And Jesus told him to sell everything he he has, give the money to the poor and come back and follow me.
[00:14:42] The rich young ruler was sorry to hear that answer and went his way. Sad. Well, that lets us know that he did. Jesus was answering his question. He did love his money more than he would ever love love God.
[00:14:59] So Jesus gazed into that young man's heart. So he was. He obviously was not willing to give up his positions because he loved money. Well, how much is it? I love money more than what I'm asking you for.
[00:15:13] So God has to be number one in all of our lives or he won't be in our lives at all.
[00:15:22] And so we have to learn and understand that. And so God has planned for his kingdom to inherit his kingdom. So that's the number one thing that we should do to be a part of his kingdom in this story. Jesus didn't say that this young man would never be able to give up his. His money and his possessions. He just answered, what did he need to do today? Now, I would like to think that whoever this young man was at some point changed his mind about it and said, I better change what's in my heart. Here we can see from this young man's story that at the time, he was not willing to. To do what Jesus was asking him to do.
[00:16:04] So that is what that is. Now, to get back to how this relates to predestination and foreknowledge.
[00:16:13] Romans chapter 8, verses 29 and 30 says this.
[00:16:18] For whom God did know, he also did predestinate to conform to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
[00:16:30] Moreover, he did predestinate, and he also called.
[00:16:35] And whom he called, he also justified, and them he also glorified.
[00:16:42] So it says, whom he foreknew, he predestinated. Which says to me, he didn't foreknow everybody.
[00:16:51] And then it says, well, I heard one of the greatest men of God that ever lived explain this.
[00:16:59] I heard his explanation. Okay, he created a scenario. There are two drivers that are heading toward the same curve from opposite sides. Neither of them can see around the curve. They both decided to pass another vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed at the worst possible time.
[00:17:20] A man sitting atop the hill sees both cars heading around the curve, and he knows there's going to be a crash. He didn't cause the crash, but he had foreknowledge that there would be a crash.
[00:17:36] So he did not cause the collision. But from his vantage point, he knows there's going to be one.
[00:17:42] Well out of the mouth of he out of his mouth, he also predestinates. So there, there's going to be a crash. So the man sitting the top of the hill predestinated to say these people getting ready to hit each other. And so he knew that too. So God is not bound by time.
[00:18:02] That is something that we have to come to our understanding. He's not bound by time. So he's able to pass to and fro time and be able to see things, the present, the future. He's not bound by that. So he can see what you did, even though you didn't do it yet. And that is the basis of predestination and foreknowledge. So from the vantage point here, you know, he looked to see what this rich young ruler's decision was going to be when he saw he's not going to choose me. Now, we don't know if he changed his mind later or not, but that, that's how I would relate this situation to foreknowledge and predestination that you brought up in your question here. So Jesus also refers into this in the scripture here among the brethren he foreknew. So which needs us to believe that the rich young ruler could have been considered for one of his apostles, so maybe even the one who was eventually going to replace Judas Iscariot. Because God didn't do, didn't look into the soul of everybody he said, those he foreknew. So obviously there was something about this young man that made Jesus, Jesus do that to him when we don't have any record that he did that a whole lot of times beyond his chosen 12 apostles.
[00:19:29] So that is an amazing thing to consider there.
[00:19:33] And all of the apostles surely were glorified. I mean, we still read about the things that Peter and Paul and those people did in his 2000 years later.
[00:19:43] So their exploits are something that we read about now to know what we ought to do.
[00:19:48] So I think this certainly would fit the category of what the Bible says about that. As for your second question, nobody is predetermined to be lost or saved.
[00:19:59] This is the choice of ours that we make. The Bible says whosoever will take the waters of life freely.
[00:20:09] So I sit before you. Good and evil. Choose good, choose life.
[00:20:13] And so nothing is predetermined. So we need to get our hearts and minds and be willing to follow the Lord. Love him, love the Lord, love his Word and grow. And so free will is something that means an Awful lot to God. He said before, it's good, will choose good. So the choice is ours.
[00:20:36] And so we can choose to serve the Lord or we can choose to love the world.
[00:20:41] So however you know, you choose to do it. But this is a very, very, very deep question that has taken us to a place that we probably needed to go to, because that's a question that I've heard quite a lot and I hope I was clear with my answers and precise. And if I wasn't, you know, you can always ask a question and add a little bit more to it so that we can all be sure that we're getting everything we can get out of what we're getting here. So thank you for that question. Our next question comes from Kathy. She's emailing from Dallas.
[00:21:17] The Bible says that the word the world wondered after the beast.
[00:21:23] If he's going to be so evil, why do you think the world will wonder after him?
[00:21:29] Well, most of the world has very little biblical knowledge or understanding of what the Bible says. And many really don't care what the Bible says about anything and will never know what they're looking at. Even when it comes to passing, some of the things the Bible says he's going to do, he fulfills, they still won't believe it or understand.
[00:21:56] The Antichrist will reign through the time of the Great Tribulation. That's the time when he'll come to power and his reign will be during that time. And most of the people on the earth would never know. They integrate tribulation and so that's the raft of Satan. Most people believe that the Great Tribulation is wrath of God, but it is not. The Bible clearly says Satan is cast down to us at that time having great wrath.
[00:22:20] The wrath of God follows the Great Tribulation.
[00:22:24] So the Bible tells us that you know who the primary people are that Satan would be persecuting at the time? The physical people of God, the Jews and the people in Israel and also the spiritual people of God, the true Bible believing Christians, which are of this specific category, the Bible believing Christians. So that is who the Antichrist is going to be persecuted. So if you're not in those two groups of people, you never know you in a tribulation, you probably would think those people need to be persecuted.
[00:23:00] And so nowadays everyone you meet is saved, claims to be saved no matter what they believe or how they live.
[00:23:08] So some Christians call themselves Christians and have put together their own standards of what they should believe and how they should live so that the Bible Is has very little to do with what they consider their own Christianity. And so, you know, their belief system is not based on anything but their own conclusion. So I believe that the people in these categories believe the things that the Antichrist and the false prophet, he'll have a religious partner. I believe that these people, except for these two categories people will believe that what he's doing is, is a right thing and these people should be persecuted.
[00:23:48] The persecution would not just be by the government of the Antichrist, but by those people who agree with the ideology of the Antichrist. There are some people who believe that everything he's doing is critical and correct and should be done.
[00:24:04] And so we can already see in the times that we live in now, we haven't got there yet the aggressive attitudes that people have become begun to have.
[00:24:14] So they don't want to just shut you down and, and drown you out when you're talking about something that they don't agree with. They want to do something to you. They want to see you hurt or harmed in some way because you're talking about something that they don't want to hear or they don't agree with. So I think the spirit of the Antichrist is already working in the world right now.
[00:24:37] And so in the conclusion, the Bible says the world will wonder after the Antichrist and his one world government system.
[00:24:45] So most of the people in the world will believe he's the greatest political leader that the world has ever seen.
[00:24:51] So that certainly sounds like somebody that they will follow because he'll be doing things that they think are necessary.
[00:25:00] And so we finally got somebody who's willing to do what needs to be done to get rid of all this foolishness. And so that's what the way they look at it, which is a sad state, but that's what the Bible says that that's going to happen.
[00:25:13] Our next question comes from Gwen. She's emailing us from DeSoto, Texas. Why do you think Enoch was translated?
[00:25:22] Well, I believe that he demonstrated everything that it was possible for a human being to know or to be able to live by at the time of his life, and especially with his relationship with God, because, you know, he walked with God and God translated him. I don't believe he knew all things beyond his time and dispensation. I don't think he understood the new birth experience or anything that we live in the time frame that we live.
[00:25:52] But I do believe that he exhibited much of what could be known by human beings at that time. And so there was nothing more for him to know at that time. You know, Enoch lived in pre flood time in the area, in the era of extreme wickedness. And he learned, you know, through his relationship with God how he should live. And obviously he had to adhere to what God was showing him. He understood what God was showing him and God certainly showed him everything that could be known in his time frame.
[00:26:27] So I believe that's why he was translated, because he did all of human being can do at that time.
[00:26:34] And so that's what I believe about that. Our next question comes from Ronnie. He's emailing us from Childress, Texas.
[00:26:43] Do you think tithing is necessary in the time we live, especially with church ministries being so dishonest?
[00:26:51] Hi Ronnie, thank you for the question. It's a fantastic question.
[00:26:56] I do believe that tithing is necessary for today's kids Christians.
[00:27:01] Leviticus 27:30 says, and all the tithes of the land, whether in seed or within land, the fruit of the tree, the Lord's, it is holy unto the Lord. So tithing predates the law. A lot of times people will say, well that that's the law and we don't live in the law. Whether tithing predates the law. And it's also talked about during grace as well. Genesis 14:20 talks about Abraham and the, the. The image that he interacted with at his time called Melchizedek. And Abraham paid ties to Melchizedek. This is Genesis 14:20 and blessed be the most high God which has delivered thine enemies into thine hand.
[00:27:47] And he gave him tithes of all.
[00:27:51] So Abraham paid tithes. This is Jacob pledges to play ties. This is Genesis chapter 28:22 and this which I have set for a pillar shall be God's house. And all that thou shall give me, I will surely give the tenth unto thee. And that's what the definition of tithes is, that the the 10th, the first 10% of of the in your income are all you gain. Whether it be these people brought up seeds and fruit. And whatever you gain is what that 10% is, is required of. This is Malachi, chapter 3, verse 10. Bring all ye tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house. And prove me wherewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
[00:28:51] So tithes, tithing has been a privilege of born again believers throughout God's word.
[00:28:57] The Bible tells us that we should be a cheerful giver. We shouldn't be give begrudgingly because that's it. It doesn't belong to us in the first place. And if there's a mistrust in your leadership that, you know, when you feel that they're dishonest with it, you know, maybe you should consider going to a different place. And we have to know that God instructs me to give the tithe and once I give it to them, what they do with it is between them and God at that point, you know, so my, my, my responsibility is to pay the tithes. And so that's what, what I would, how I would look at this. Also you may do, may need to read up and study and make that a course of your study on tithing so that you can understand that. I find a lot of people who have questions about tithing generally don't understand the tithing and what the ins and outs of the tithing where we will have lessons where the whole lesson is on tithing in the future.
[00:30:02] And so we'll, we'll get to that. But that's what I think you should start research tithing to see exactly why it is you should be paying it, how it doesn't belong to you and how, you know, we are to support our ministry and the ministries live through the tithing. So that's something that you might possibly want to pray about as well.
[00:30:23] So you might want to really, really, really obviously this is bothering you should really, really want to research this, pray about it and search the scriptures and tithe and offered offerings are a part of God's plan for us.
[00:30:38] Our next question comes from Evelyn. She's calling from Rossville. And there's no state given.
[00:30:47] What is the Bible? What does the Bible mean when it says there shall be weeping and gnashing their teeth?
[00:30:56] And this, this is a description that Jesus gave many times when he talked about the people who failed to make it into the kingdom of God and the distress that they would encounter.
[00:31:07] There are several categories of people that we found in different experiences.
[00:31:14] The types of torment that they would have in Matthew 22:13 that talks about the people who obviously did not have a proper wedding garment on which is one of the categories that they did not obey the gospel. Somehow they expected to be a part of the kingdom of God.
[00:31:34] And their understanding of what true Christianity was, was askew. And that's one category. Another category is Matthew 24:50, the souls of the wicked servants who revile the kingdom of God. Just, you know, when they were in the kingdom of God, they got to the point to where they, they didn't enjoy being a part of that kingdom. So she they went back to what they were. They backslid, I put it that way with revert back to their own wickedness and did not desire to walk with God anymore. We also have the people in Matthew 25:30 and these are the people who, who did not do what do anything positive with all the wonderful things that God had given them. God had given them quite a lot, but they, they didn't do anything with it.
[00:32:28] And of course those who did not seek after the kingdom of God in the first place, who love the world more than they would ever love God, they are part of that as well. That weeping and gnashing of teeth.
[00:32:41] So these are just few of examples of what this is when Jesus referred to it and Jesus referred to this more than anybody else.
[00:32:49] And so I would say to define that torment, that which is the weeping and gnashing of teeth, I would say it's a torment.
[00:32:56] Despair, regret, pain for the path taken and a grief looking backwards is what that would be because you'll be considering all the time the Gospel was preached to you that you didn't respond to it.
[00:33:11] And I would have to sum up the weeping and gnashing of teeth as a spiritual agony that is never going to end. And so we certainly don't want to end up part of those people who were lost or didn't make it into the rapture. Especially with all the things that are available to show us how we should respond to God's call. And God has called everybody. The Bible says time and chance comes to all and God has shown himself to all people.
