[00:00:40] Hello everyone. Welcome to an amazing thing. Thank you for joining me. This is our middle of the week lesson where we continue through our study. We'll continue to from where we left off last time. This is in the beginning, number 11.
[00:00:54] I'll start reading here. In Exodus, chapter 12, verse 37. And the children of Israel journeyed from Ramses to sukkoth. About 600,000 on foot that were men besides the children.
[00:01:09] Israel had went into Egypt 430 years prior to this.
[00:01:15] And now the Lord is bringing them out as he promised he would.
[00:01:19] This is found in, in the book of Exodus. And the word Exodus is related to a word that we use on an everyday basis, exit. And so this is the exit of them from Egyptian captivity into the physical kingdom of God.
[00:01:37] The verse 38, which is the next verse, tells us that they came out of mixed multitude. So they came out more than just the Israelites that, that, that were descendants of, of Israel, but there were also other people who came out with them. Now we know that the, the Egyptians were not selective in who they would enslave for servitude, especially with all the work that had to be done with the building the cities and all that. So there's a lot of other folks in servitude other than just Israel. And those people came out as well.
[00:02:13] We know that Matthew 5:45 tells us that it rains on the just and the unjust alike. So these people were able to benefit from God bringing his people out of that bondage.
[00:02:29] Leaving Egyptian bondage. This is Exodus, chapter 12, verse 42.
[00:02:35] It is the night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out of the land of Egypt. And this is the night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations. So we know this is going to be something that they're going to observe for a long time and they will observe that for another 1500 years.
[00:02:56] Leaving Egyptian bondage is much like the type and shadow of the reality of coming out of a sinful life and going into the spiritual kingdom of God that we enjoy the New Testament.
[00:03:09] So them leaving Egyptian bondage is leaving sin. Us leaving a sinful life and going off into, into God's kingdom in a spiritual way is the reality of that.
[00:03:21] And so these people would have to submit themselves to God totally in order to be brought out and live according to God's plan for them.
[00:03:33] And Moses brings out something you got to remember. And from our last lesson, there was something that they weren't supposed to forget.
[00:03:40] This is Exodus, chapter 13, verse 19.
[00:03:43] And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him. For he had strictly sworn the children of Israel saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you. This is certainly something that they couldn't forget. And they had sworn to that. And the Egyptians had perfect affected the embalming technique even when Joseph was there. So Joseph knew that they God was going to visit them and bring them out. He had his body embalmed so that he would come out with them. And he didn't want to be left in that the Egyptian territory. There God guides Israel by a cloud by day and fire by night. This is Exodus 13, verse 21. And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud to lead them in the way, and by night in the pillar of the fire to give them light to go by day and by night.
[00:04:45] So we said earlier that they would have to be totally dependent upon God.
[00:04:50] So sometimes God traveled by day and led them, sometimes they traveled by night as he led them. So God was the boss of that. And so they had to submit themselves to his leadership. And some people say, I don't want to be bossed around when you can't be a part of the kingdom of God, because that is a kingdom that you are submitted to your king.
[00:05:11] In this case, the physical people were submitted to God. Here our dependence on God would lend itself to disobedience as we move according to the Spirit and the word of God in the New Testament. So we certainly will get there, and it's going to be a little while. But we want to build these foundational things so that when we get there and talk about those things, we'll have that foundation to be able to continue here.
[00:05:39] Okay, Pharaoh now comes after them.
[00:05:42] This is Exodus, chapter 14, verses 10 and 11.
[00:05:47] And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes and behold, the Egyptians marched after them.
[00:05:54] And they were sore afraid. And the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord, and they said unto Moses, because there were no graves in Egypt, has thou taken us away to die in the wilderness?
[00:06:06] Wherefore hast thou dealt with us to carry us forth from Egypt?
[00:06:13] Israel has been a subculture of the Egyptians there. And all the menial tasks that was done was done by Israel, as well as the hard Work and the mortar and brick and all that stuff too.
[00:06:30] So now the Egyptians were dependent upon Israel for just about everything.
[00:06:37] And so they, after preparing their own meals for three days, after feeding their own livestock and different things, now they see how hard that work is, and they won't submit themselves to having to do that.
[00:06:49] So we gonna go after them and bring them back into servitude. And so the Egyptians of the Israelis are already starting to murmur now too, they're complaining.
[00:06:59] And so that is not, certainly not something that we need to do.
[00:07:06] Murmuring and complaining really is exalting Satan, which Pharaoh is a type and shadow of, and minimizing God who the one who is responsible for us when we live in his kingdom.
[00:07:21] Now Pharaoh has decided to counter attack after three days.
[00:07:26] So that's much like Satan. When we decide we're going to serve the Lord and live in his kingdom under his rulership, we shouldn't be surprised that Satan says, I'm going to come and bring you back, bring some hardship into your life so that you'll remember how it used to be. And you can, that's what you're used to.
[00:07:44] And so that is a normal part of us coming out of a sinful lifestyle, going into the kingdom of God. Just as these people were coming from a physical servitude into the physical kingdom of God. And we have to remember that.
[00:07:59] So we should never, when God is bringing us up, never murmur over what God is doing in our lives.
[00:08:06] So God tells them to fear not and stand still.
[00:08:10] This is Exodus 14, 13, 14.
[00:08:14] And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which he shall show you today. And the Egyptians whom you see today, ye shall never see them again, no more, forever.
[00:08:29] The Lord will fight for you, so hold your peace. So the Lord is going to fight for you. Israel would have to learn to trust the Lord, and that's a relatively new thing for them at this point. But they'll have to learn to trust him more and more.
[00:08:44] And Israel is now the physical kingdom of God, so they'll have to learn to depend on him. Hold your peace and see what the Lord said. Stop your murmuring, shut up. Because you're minimizing God's power when you murmur.
[00:09:00] And so that's a negativity that minimizes God and exalts Satan. Whether we realize it or not, that's what we do. So we should be careful what comes out of our mouths.
[00:09:10] And certainly the word of God will help lead us to how we should see these things. This is Exodus, chapter 14, verse 16. Israel comes to a place where there's a mountain on one side and a mountain on the other side. The Red Sea is right in front of them, sort of a box canyon.
[00:09:28] So God has maneuvered them into this position.
[00:09:32] But lift up thy rod and stretch out thy hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground in the midst of the sea. So God is about to do some spectacular thing that only God can do. So Israel goes over on dry ground.
[00:09:51] Everybody see Israel is the one who walks over. All the Egyptians see them walking over. They still have yet to realize that's God working with them.
[00:10:01] So when we learn to share the reality and come out from it, we can learn to live in the kingdom of God and all the magnificent things that he have in store for us.
[00:10:12] The dry ground is also.
[00:10:14] It doesn't just provide them a way to get through the Red Sea, but it also entices Egypt to follow them.
[00:10:23] So this is as God not only showing his righteousness and protective power to his children, Israel, but he's gonna have to teach the rest of the world, the Egyptians and the world that they represent how awesome he is as well.
[00:10:40] So he allows them to follow them in. And that's what God wants. This is Exodus, chapter 14, verses 26 and 20 and 28. And the Lord said unto Moses, stretch out thy hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, upon their horsemen. And the water returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen. And all of the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them, there remained not much as one of them. All the people who followed them in there were covered up and destroyed there.
[00:11:17] So when God removes something from our lives, that thing should never return again. God makes sure it's never. So it's not God that's bringing that into your life. Now. We live in a time now where people constantly backslide and look back at what God brought them out of and envy that sometimes that's not God taking you back into that lifestyle. And all those negative things will follow.
[00:11:39] If you choose to go back, then all those negative things that you were trying to escape from will be back in your life as well. But God did not bring them there.
[00:11:48] So when we walk in God's righteousness, we should never fear the wickedness of our enemy.
[00:11:55] So they can't. When God brings us through something, we should never fear what the enemy can do to us. This is Exodus, chapter 16 verses 13 through 15.
[00:12:06] And it came to pass that at even the quail came up and covered the camp. And in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
[00:12:16] And when the dew that lay round was gone, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one to another, it is manna, for they wist not what it was. And Moses said, this is the bread which the Lord gave you to eat.
[00:12:41] So God is the provider of his people and he'll provide everything we need these people, the thing that they need the most right now is going to be something to eat.
[00:12:51] The children of Israel were totally reliant upon God.
[00:12:55] And there are two types of food here that are types and shadows of the New Testament.
[00:13:03] We know that the manna was a type of the spirit. We know that the quail was a type of the truth. And we're gonna spend quite some time on that in the future. That's gonna be very, very important. But we have this here. We can look back and refer back to it to know what the Lord was trying to show the physical people here and what we have the reality of now. God gave the children of Israel the ten Commandments. They don't know how to govern themselves. They've been doing what they've been told for 400 years.
[00:13:34] They have been institutionalized.
[00:13:37] So they are now having to learn. We used to submit ourselves to Egypt, which was the world, which was a life of sin. Now we have to submit ourselves to the law of righteousness. And so that's what God has given them now. He's given them the Ten Commandments. This is Exodus, chapter 20, verses 3 through 17.
[00:13:58] Commandment number one. Thou shall have no other gods before me.
[00:14:03] Commandment number two. Thou shalt make.
[00:14:07] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness or anything that is in heaven above or in the earth beneath, or in the sea, in the water under the earth. So don't make any kind of image to that.
[00:14:26] Number three. Thou shall not take the name of the Lord in vain.
[00:14:31] You know, we tend to tell jokes and use put the Lord's name in vain on a continual basis. Just turning on the television, we see that over and over and over again.
[00:14:42] Number four. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. This is a set aside day in the physical kingdom that they are to set aside to worship. The Lord, rest from their physical work, so on and so forth. And we will Certainly talk about this in the future.
[00:14:58] Number five, honor thy father and thy mother.
[00:15:03] Number six, Thou shalt not kill.
[00:15:06] Number seven, Thou shalt not commit adultery. You destroy your family. Your, the family or the other person that's involved. Your children, their children grow up without deaf parents. And because of the separation that that kind of thing causes, God is giving them these things. So that's something that they need to know.
[00:15:23] Thou shalt not steal. Don't take anything that belongs to someone else. If you have need of something, I'll give it to you. That's what God is trying to show them. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Stop lying.
[00:15:37] And so that is certainly something that we should learn. God hates a liar, and we'll cover that more in the future.
[00:15:44] Number 10. Thou shalt not cover thy neighbor's house.
[00:15:47] Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.
[00:15:59] So you don't want to be jealous of your neighbor and what they have and wishing that what he had was you had it.
[00:16:05] If you needed, God would provide it for you. And because God has given someone else something, it may be for some aspect of their ministry to serve him that he's called you to do something different. So don't covet.
[00:16:19] Ten commandments were given on Mount Sinai, which was the same place that God first showed himself to Moses in the burning bush.
[00:16:27] And I'm told that in the New Testament, when the Spirit falls is the same day that this happened, of God giving Moses the ten Commandments. So that would be something certainly we're going to talk about in the future.
[00:16:44] And that's a magnificent thing.
[00:16:47] God gives Moses the tabernacle plan. This is Exodus, chapter 25, verses 8 and 9.
[00:16:54] And let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them according to all that I will show thee after the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all the instruments thereof. Even so shall you make it, make everything according to the pattern.
[00:17:14] That is something that God said several times and is going to say several times because we live in a time now where people have taken the pattern that God gives us in what the whole Bible and, and changed aspects of it to mean what they wanted to mean. So that you heard people say sometimes instead of us changing our ministry and the things that we believe to fit God's word, we try to change God's word to fit our ministry and what we want it to mean. And so we see how God, how important God shows this. And when that kind of thing is done, it certainly affects the generation that's doing it and the generations that come thereafter.
[00:17:58] In the New Testament, God tells us to take heed to the doctrine.
[00:18:03] In doing so, you will save yourself and those that hear you. Well, if you don't take heed to it, that means you're going to lead astray yourself and those that hear you. So that is why this is very, very important that God gives us to stick to the pattern. And this part of the is something we know that we should not take liberties with. God's word.
[00:18:28] The furniture and the tabernacle.
[00:18:31] I'm going to explain, show you a picture of what this is so that you can follow along here if you're watching us on YouTube or on our website.

[00:18:56] And so you can do that. And I'm going to explain everything. Now, the picture that you're seeing now for the people who are on a video source, is a picture of the temple.
[00:19:07] First of all, we see the outer court. And there is a fence around the outer court, if you will, are coverings of badger skins and things that they made.
[00:19:16] And that is the outer court.
[00:19:20] And inside the outer court, before you enter into the tabernacle, there are two pieces of furniture.
[00:19:26] There is the altar of burnt offerings, and that was made out of brass. All the things that were in the outer court were made of brass. And we certainly will cover what these things are made of in future lessons.
[00:19:38] The altar of burnt offerings, where they killed the animal, they burned the animal, and they had utensils that were specifically made for this purpose that they could reach in and retrieve the meat and move things around and do what God had asked them to do.
[00:19:53] And so that represents death or the killing of the animal. Then there was also a laver, which is nothing more than a wash basin that is made of brass as well.
[00:20:05] Now, this was a different type of brass than the the burnt offering.
[00:20:11] Altar of burnt offering brass was made out of. This was a polished brass. Remember in our last lesson, God told the people, the children of Israel, to borrow from the Egyptians, anything that you will need, take it and they'll give it to you. And so part of what that was, was the looking glasses, it wasn't made out of glass back in those days. It was made out of a polished brass. And it was polished in such a way that there was a reflection. So they used those for mirrors. And that is what this piece of furniture was made from.
[00:20:44] And when they filled it up with water, when it was time for the sacrifice, the high priest would. Would kill the animal. And he's covered with blood, so he has to wash himself. His hands. He plunged his hands down into this wash basin. Before he does that, he can see himself because this is a polished brass. He can see himself. But when he washes his hands now, the water becomes full of blood.
[00:21:11] Now he can no longer see himself. And so that's certainly something we're going to have to remember because we will refer back to this in future lessons as well.
[00:21:20] Okay. Now, he enters into the tabernacle itself, and that is also contained. There's two rooms inside of this. Now, he has to push his way because the doorway going into this tabernacle is staggered.
[00:21:37] So that means it's draped with different drapes that are hangover and they're overlapping each other. So he has to push his way into.
[00:21:45] To this holy place. And that is something we'll talk about in the future as well.
[00:21:49] Inside the holy place, there is three pieces of furniture. Now, these are overlaid with gold.
[00:21:56] Gold represents spirituality. The brass on the outside was carnality and fear. Physical, fleshy type things. Those are things we can do through the physical. Inside the holy place, these are overlaid with gold to show us these are spiritual things. To the left, there was the menorah or the candlestick. Now, this was not something that was made out of. The candlesticks were not made of wax like the candles that we have today. It was oil that had a wick inside of it, and they would burn, the wick would burn until the oil was dissipated. On the right, there was the table of showbread. Now, we wouldn't be able to see anything at all inside unless we could light the menorah.
[00:22:40] So when we light the menorah now, everything is illuminated. And it wasn't that all those skins that were overlaid didn't allow any light whatsoever to get inside of here. So in most places that we find ourselves in today, we could turn all the lights off, close the doors and close the curtains. We could still see each other, but it was not that way inside the holy place. So they had to light the menorah. And then the bread, the show bread, was representative of the word of God.
[00:23:10] And then you had another piece of furniture was the altar of the incense, and that's overlaid with gold as well, which represents the worship of God.
[00:23:20] So the menorah was the spirit of God. The table of showbread was the word of God.
[00:23:26] The altar of incense was the worship of God. The Bible says in the New Testament, those who worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth.
[00:23:37] And then there was a separation into the last room, which is the holiest of holies, which is where the ark of the covenant was kept. Now, this was a veil that went all the way from the top, all the way to the bottom, and was a heavy cloth.
[00:23:53] And so the priest had to push his way into this as well. And so when he went in there, he took that blood with him in a dish that he took from the animal. He's come all the way through. He's lit the minority, the spirit. He's the. The table of showbread. The priests throughout the week have eaten that to show themselves. Approved. That's the word of God. We study the word of God to show ourselves. Approved.
[00:24:18] We worship God. We enter into his presence and we bring that blood and we put that on the mercy seat. When God accepts our repentance, then he allows that blood to dissipate. And then those sins for these people in the physical kingdom of God was pushed ahead for another year. They had to do this every year for 1500 years.
[00:24:43] And that's what they did.
[00:24:45] And so this is an amazing thing here.
[00:24:50] And so that is a picture of that. And these are types and shadows of things that we will enjoy in the New Testament. Here.
[00:25:01] There's a scripture in First John in the New Testament, chapter 5, verse 8.
[00:25:07] This is something to hang your hat on. In the meantime, there are three that bear witness in the earth, the Spirit, the water, and the blood. And these three agree in one.
[00:25:20] What's the one thing they agree in? Born again.
[00:25:24] So when we see this tabernacle plan that we just walked through, that is a type and shadow of the new birth experience that we experience, these people will experience and we all will experience from the These people's time 1500 years before the reality of this would be available.
[00:25:43] And so we certainly will refer back to this. So you certainly want to study these lessons even as we go forward. You can go back and all of our lessons, you can go back and study them in order. But the one that we certainly want you to go back is that midweek show, because that's in chronological order. As we study the Word of God. So you can always go back and reread these things as we progress through the Word of God. And that certainly is an amazing thing here.
[00:26:11] So this study, this study today, this tabernacle plan is certainly a type and shadow of a New Testament reality. That is one of the most powerful things that we will ever study in the Word of God.
[00:26:24] I'm going to read here. This is also a New Testament scripture. This is John chapter 4, verse 24.
[00:26:33] God is a spirit and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
[00:26:42] Everything that we'll ever know about God we'll learn in spirit and in truth.
[00:26:48] That's an amazing thing.
[00:26:50] And we'll be right back after these messages.
